ЦЕЛОВАЛЬНИК , должностное лицо в Русском государстве 15-18 вв. Избирался из посадских людей или черносошных крестьян для выполнения различных финансовых или судебных обязанностей. Клялся честно выполнять их (целовал крест). Позднее целовальниками называли продавцов в казенных винных лавках.

ФИНКА (финна) , личиночная стадия ленточных червей (напр., свиного и бычьего солитеров), паразитирующая в промежуточном хозяине (напр., свинье, овце). Имеет вид пузыря. Развитие финки в половозрелого червя происходит в кишечнике окончательного хозяина, напр. человека.

ГУННЫ , кочевой народ, сложился во 2-4 вв. в Приуралье из тюркоязычных хунну и местных угров и сарматов. Массовое передвижение гуннов на запад (с 70-х гг. 4 в.) дало толчок т. н. Великому переселению народов. Подчинив ряд германских и других племен, возглавили мощный союз племен, предпринимавший опустошительные походы во многие страны. Наибольшего могущества достигли при Аттиле. Продвижение гуннов на запад было остановлено их разгромом на Каталаунских полях (451). После смерти Аттилы (453) союз племен распался.
